Preps software accepts file formats from more than 200 popular
desktop applications, allowing users to impose and print any combination
of PostScript, PDF, EPS, DCS, TIFF, and RDO files in a single
Preps job.
Preps software allows you to use a PostScript or a PDF native
workflow. The PDF workflow accepts all incoming PDF files without
converting them to PostScript, saving time and disk space. The
imposed PDF files can be archived, sent to an output device, or
exported for viewing. Preps can output job files as JDF or PJTF
for integration with leading prepress workflows.
What’s
New in Preps 5.2 software
Acrobat
7 compatibility
Preps software now imposes Acrobat 7 PDF files.
Better
native PDF previewing
Preps 5.2 software previews PDFs three times faster than previously,
provides overprint support, better anti-aliasing, fewer pixel
artifacts and better colour separation viewing. Preps software
also now allows remapping of spot colours to spot or process colors
and the setting of line screen and screen angle for individual
colours in native PDF jobs.
Page-anchored
SmartMarks
SmartMarks can be attached to individual pages or a range of pages
on a signature. Pages do not have to be sequential. Both commercial
and packaging printers can benefit from this feature.
Edit
multiple objects in the template editor
Users can now edit multiple pages or gutters simultaneously.
Uncalibrated
color bars
For the Prinergy and Prinergy Evo workflow systems, PJTF and JDF
jobs can be printed with a colour profile or curve applied to
everything except the colour bar. Colour bars can now be anchored
and stepped from the centre of the sheet, as an alternative to
stepping left to right.
Support
for Müller Martini and WST optical bar codes
Preps software now dynamically generates job-specific bar codes
that can be read by Müller Martini and WST optical readers,
to prevent errors when collating and folding sheets in postpress
equipment.
Assign
devices per signature
You can now assign specific devices to signatures or entire templates.
You can then output a job with multiple plate sizes using a single
print command.
Improved
JDF signature matching
For closer matches and faster results when resolving JDF signatures,
Preps software now searches on additional criteria, including
sheet size and optionally on work style, folding pattern and head
and foot trims.
JDF output
from Preps now contains all of the information required to be
able to reconstruct the original job. This is useful for repeated
output, such as when a job needs to be replated. In Preps Pro,
JDF cutting data can be exported in addition to the already supported
CIP3/PPF.
Brisque
edition merge
Preps standard and Brisque editions have been unified. Users can
now generate PostScript, PDF, JDF, PJTF and Brisque output, making
it easier to drive any workflow from Preps software.
Preps
online help
For quick access to information as you work, online help is now
available from the Help menu.
Preps 5.2 is a free of charge upgrade for users
