FirstPROOF is a family of remote local area network (LAN) virtual-dot soft-proofing systems, consisting of FirstPROOF Standard and FirstPROOF Professional.

Available to run on either a PC or Apple Macintosh, FirstPROOF allows users to remotely view and approve output from multiple RIPs prior to imaging. The software allows you to easily and quickly navigate around your job, zooming in and out to check the layout and content. Once you are happy that the image is fine, you can then send it back for output. This is an essential tool for the high-end printing industry, where exposing film or burning plates can prove a costly excercise when mistakes are made, especially for CTP.

	Remotely view RIPped pages on any Mac or PC, not just where the RIP is. No need for expensive black boxes, extra screen/keyboard/mouse etc. (Note: A version of PC MACLAN will be required for Macs running up to and including OS 9.2. This is not required if the Mac is running OS X.
	View multiple pages whilst RIPping without stopping platesetter output			Auto grouping of separations into pages, and pages into jobs for easy use
	A navigation window which enables you to see the whole page and navigate quickly around the image			Multiple scale factors which allow you to zoom in and out for optimum viewing size

	View pages before outputting by diverting them into a HELD area allowing you to check them, finally releasing them to the RIP when you are happy
	Multiple operators can view multiple plates from a single RIP, this allows EVERYONE to check their own jobs

FirstPROOF Professional builds on FirstPROOF Standard by offering a large additional toolset for checking and approving jobs. In addition, it provides tools for fixing up problems and the ability to print what has been soft proofed. These 'workflow' tools include features such as Delete Seps, Merge Seps and Print.

All versions of FirstPROOF support both the Harlequin PGB (PageBuffers) format and standard TIFF files. Support for Harlequin PGBs allows FirstPROOF to work with any Harlequin RIP, providing a tightly integrated soft-proofing system. Support for standard TIFF files allows FirstPROOF to connect to almost any high end RIP system.
