Courier
is a 'many to one' file submission tool allowing reliable
PDFs, made to a pre-defined specification, to be delivered
to the point of use. A branded client application, a printer
driver, is built for free distribution to potential users.
The client application, based on reliable JAWS PDF Creator
technology, produces an encrypted PDF which is sent over
the internet to the server at the service provider, along
with a job ticket on a specially designed form with production
instructions. Preflighting at source, using Enfocus technology,
is an option. At the server the user is registered and
a license subtracted in the case of a new user, then the
files are decrypted for print production. Files from existing
users do not incur a license subtraction.
Courier works well for in-plant print shops, on-demand
and pay for print producers and conventional repro/CtP
systems at printers, as well as corporate users for whom
PDF is the main vehicle for their electronic communication.
